Referendum Passed and Zero Percent Bonds Approved

April 5, 2017

Thank you to the Cerro Gordo CUSD #100 voters who supported the referendum and those who helped to inform voters about it.  Earlier today, we received additional good news from the Illinois State Board of Education.  The district’s application to be authorized to sell zero percent Qualified Zone Academy Bonds to cover a portion of the costs of a connecting addition and other renovations to Cerro Gordo Jr/Sr High School has been approved.  The significance of this news is that the total cost of the repayment of bonds sold to pay for the renovations will be reduced.  That is good news for all involved, including property taxpayers .  We are actively working with our financial advisors to quantify the potential impact and will communicate more information as it becomes available.  Thank you again for supporting Cerro Gordo CUSD #100 as we both continue to provide and seek to improve upon, excellent educational opportunities to the students we serve.

Brett Robinson, Superintendent
