Cerro Gordo School Referendum 2017

Dear Parents & Community Members,

On April 4, an important proposal will be on the ballot to provide the necessary funding to upgrade our learning environments and position in the Cerro Gordo School District for the future.

The district recently completed its required 10-year health/life safety survey, which identified a number of required and recommended work items, totaling $3 million. The Board of Education's buildings and grounds committee was then charged with creating a facility master plan to address these items, and ensure that taxpayer's dollars were invested wisely in the long-term.

Members of our community provided valuable input and suggestions as a part of this process, and the resulting $8 million plan is a long-term vision for the future of CG schools, developed by the people of CG.

The measure on the ballot would provide improvements to safety, accessibility, educational environments, fine arts, and athletics. This positions the school district well to continue to provide top-quality education to our students while maintaining a balanced budget.

The district's website (www.cgbroncos.org) has several detailed factual documents that contain information concerning the facilities, finances, the planning process, and many other related topics. To access this information, click on "Referendum Info" under Community Resources.

An as always, feel free to contact me directly with questions.

In your service,

Brett Robinson, Superintendent
