My name is Ashley Spent (soon to be Kaylor) and I am excited to be a Bronco again! I am from the Decatur area, but I went to middle school here from 2006 to 2008. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Millikin University, and I am currently working towards my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Eastern Illinois University.

I have worked for the district on and off since 2018 working as their BAS director, long-term music sub, district sub, and I even finished my student teaching placement here this past year. Cerro Gordo has a special place in my heart, and I am so excited to continue my time here as a third-grade teacher.

Working with young children is something that I truly love to do. It’s my passion! I consider it an honor to take on the challenge of assisting each student in making progress in all spheres of their development. I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures growth in a positive, fun environment.

I have been with my fiancé going on seven years and we are getting married in October 2023. We have four fur babies that take up a lot of our time. I also enjoy reading, music, relaxing on the weekends, and spending time with friends and family.
