Remote Learning Plans

The Cerro Gordo School Board approved the Emergency Remote Learning Plan at the November meeting. This plan will allow us the option to hold school remotely on days where inclement weather or other circumstances keep us from attending school in the buildings. The plans for different grade levels vary slightly. The CGES Plan can be found here: Remote Learning Plan-Elem. The JHHS Plan can be found here: Remote Learning Plan-JHHS. Specific and detailed communication will also come from your child's classroom teacher(s) in the event of a remote learning day. We understand that each family has a unique set of circumstances regarding work schedules and the availability of technology. Our staff is committed to being flexible in accommodating the needs of our students in these situations.

Our intent is to use Emergency Remote Learning Days only when there is a high likelihood of school being canceled in advance. Traditional snow days can and will still be used depending on the forecast, weather conditions, and specific circumstances at the time. If a snow day or remote learning day is called, parents will be notified via school email, text, local media, and social media. Please ensure that your email and phone number is up to date with the school office. If you use social media, please "Like" Cerro Gordo School District 100 on Facebook and follow @weidner_dr on X (Twitter). The district will be eligible to start using remote learning days beginning in January 2024 after our plan has been approved by the Illinois State Board of Education.

Our goal is to work together with families in a partnership that benefits our students. As always, I encourage you to reach out at any time if you have questions, concerns, or great ideas.
