CGJH Literary
Literary/Speech Team is an IESA-sponsored extracurricular activity open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Literary/Speech Team requires its members to memorize and perform a script of their choosing (selected from a collection of scripts). Students will have a variety of performance categories to select from including solo acting, duet acting, small group acting, and duet and team improv, among others. Students can participate in a maximum of 3 events. These performances will be performed in front of a judge and small audience at the annual IESA Speech Contest, which is hosted by a school in our contest area each year, usually in late October or early November.
Literary/Speech Team is a great opportunity for students to enhance and exhibit public speaking skills, conquer stage fright, improve memorization skills, enhance collaboration skills, and display their personality and talents in the field of performing arts.
