College & Career Pathway Endorsements
College and Career Pathway Endorsements
The Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness Act includes a process for school districts to award College and Career Pathway Endorsements to high school graduates. Students earn endorsements by completing an individualized learning plan, a career-focused instructional sequence, and professional learning opportunities over the course of 2 years (junior and senior year). CGHS has partnered with Heartland Technical Academy to offer our students these opportunities and endorsements.
A College and Career Pathway Endorsement (CCPE) seal in Illinois is an official recognition on a student's high school diploma that demonstrates readiness for post-secondary education or entry-level careers. Earning it requires completing a sequence of career-focused courses, work-based learning, and often industry credentials or dual credit, alongside regular graduation requirements. This endorsement signifies that the student has developed both the technical and employability skills needed for their chosen career area.
